Mrs. Nellie L. Anderson, 77, a resident of 1002 E. Madison for 42 years, was pronounced dead-on-arrival at 7:40 p.m. Monday (Sept. 21, 1970) at Lake View Memorial Hospital after becoming ill at her home. Mrs. Anderson was born July 10, 1893, at Marshall, daughter of Samuel and Honor Swinford Cambridge. She was married to John Leroy Anderson on July 14, 1917, and he preceded her in death in Feb., 1967. Surviving are a son, Robert of Danville; a twin brother, Clifford Cambridge of Kankakee; a sister, Miss Myrtle Cambridge of Santa Anna, Calif.; and three grandsons. She was also preceded in death by a son, a sister and two brothers. She was employed as a seamstress at Model Star Laundry and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Jewell Whyte VFW Auxiliary. She also served as treasurer of the WSCS and as a Gray Lady at the Danville Veterans Administration Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Eldon Gourley officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Barrick & Son Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church one hour before services Thursday.
